More than 150 nutritionists will be at various supermarkets across the Middle East and North Africa throughout January to encourage shoppers to eat healthier, move more, and live better. The 2020 edition of the Choose Wellness, Choose Nestlé initiative, running in the region for the seventh consecutive year, is expected to reach around 500,000 shoppers in more than 4000 outlets this month, with the aim to guide them towards a healthier shopping journey.

Shoppers in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates at Lulu, Carrefour, Panda, Coops, and Al Meera among other outlets will be able to interact with on-site nutritionists and receive leaflets.

“This year’s theme aims to tackle the reality that people all around the world are generally not familiar with reading food labels, and could benefit from enhancing their awareness of how to shop for healthier food options,” said Sarah Kanaan, Nestlé Head of Nutrition, Health and Wellness Middle East & North Africa.

“This is why we’re ensuring nutrition experts are available at leading supermarkets to help educate shoppers on how to better understand serving sizes, calories, and various nutrition information, in addition to guiding them on building healthy grocery lists and making informed choices for a healthy lifestyle.”

The initiative is in line with Nestlé’s purpose of Enhancing Quality of Life and Contributing to a Healthier Future, with this year’s theme particularly helping fulfill one of the company’s commitments to society: to deliver nutrition information, advice and portion guidance.

Nestlé products will also be available at reduced prices throughout the month.
